Last week, the varsity soccer team played in the Metro Tournament.

“This is a really big tournament and we were hoping to go far,” said junior Ryan T.

Earlier last week the panthers played John Carrol and unfortunately lost.

“The loss means that we will no longer progress in the Metro Tournament but I’m proud of the team. I know that we tried our hardest and we’ll hopefully get them next time,” said junior Moises R.

They also played Altamont. The final score was a tied score of 2-2. Cameron Murray and Ryan Tapley both scored giving the Panthers their two points.  They will also play Homewood but will not progress any further in the tournament.

This week, the Panthers will be playing Hillcrest and Tuscaloosa County at home. The Hillcrest game played on Tuesday April 3. They shut out Hillcrest 11-1.

“The Hillcrest game was a solid win. We played hard and it paid off,” said junior Moises R.

The Panthers will also be playing Tuscaloosa County on Friday April 6.

“Come out and support us! We really feed off of yalls energy and we love seeing fans in the stands,” said junior Moises R.
