The wrestling season is slowly reaching an end for the seniors. On Thursday January 24th, Pelham hosted a match for the senior’s last match at home. The team wrestled Minor, Walker and Mortimer Jordan. It was senior night for the only two seniors on the team: Tre M. and Nolan V.
Nolan is a senior and one of the captains. “It was pretty sad knowing that I will never be able to step on the mat in the gym ever again. But I’m happy because the whole team did really well and we won all three matches,” said Nolan V.
Tre M. is another senior on the team and won all of the matches he wrestled in.
“This season has been fun and it’s bittersweet knowing it was my last home match, but I’m ready to see what the rest of the year is going to bring,” Tre Maynard said.
There aren’t any more home matches for the seniors but it isn’t completely over. There are a few matches left for this year. Senior Nolan V. said, “Just keep wrestling hard because before you know it the season will be over and you’re not going to have the chance to compete anymore; take advantage of doing the things you love to do.”
