As the end of the season approaches, the Panthers must prepare to play some of the best teams in the county. In the next few weeks the team will go up against Hoover, Thompson, Oak Mountain, Briarwood, Bibb Country, and Calera.

“The team is most looking forward to playing Thompson. They’re our rivals and we really just want to beat them,” said senior Ray F.

Depending on their success, they could be eligible to compete in the Area 10 Tournament, SubRegionals, Regionals, and finally State. Recently, the team has defeated Hueytown (49-42), Bibb County (68-57), and Oak Mountain (35-29).

“Preparing for upcoming games is pretty intense. We practice every morning and afternoon, scrimmage against JV, beat JV, etc.” said senior Ray F.

“We’re really excited that we have beaten Floyd’s records with this season. It’s a big accomplishment to us,” said senior Xavier L.

The team encourages the Pelham High School student body to come and be a part of the Jo Flo Jungle. Come out and support the Panthers Friday as they take on the Oak Mountain Eagles. The following week the team will be playing away at Thompson (January 17) and Oak Mountain (January 20).
