Though the Pelham High School Lady Panthers started off with a loss against St. Paul (3-1), they bounced back with a win against Shades Mountain (2-0), but then went down against Carver-Montgomery (0-2). The team still has high hopes for the rest of the season and is continuing to work hard for their goal of a state championship.
Looking to have a better season this year, senior Dana A. said, “I plan on holding my team mates accountable and trying to be the best leader I can be so that my senior season is my best one.”
Senior Portia T. said that the team needs to work on communication for this season to as successful as possible. She also explained her thoughts on how she expects this season to go, “We are going to go all the way this year, I’m hoping we go and win state; for sure!”
Sydney says, “I know that I can speak for most of the team when I say we want more wins, especially home wins.”
Portia also expressed her personal goal of having “more kills (attacks) and blocks.” She continued with, “everyone on the team has their own goals, but most of our goals are made as a team and we fulfill them as a team.” Teamwork plays a key role in the success of these Panthers.
The Panthers look to have a strong season even through their struggles, “We want a good turnout of fans at some of our big game.”
